Day 1
ALABAMA • MONTGOMERY:
Today, we travel to Montgomery, the capital city of Alabama. Our city tour will include a drive by of the Capitol, First White House of the Confederacy, the Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald Museum, the Hank Williams Memorial and many other points of interest. We overnight in southern Alabama.
Day 2
LOUISIANA • MARTIN ACCORDIONS • CAJUN DINNER:
In the Cajun Country of Lafayette, Louisiana, we enjoy a special treat as we tour Martin Accordions to see howaccordions are made. Junior Martin and his family custom craft fine diatonic accordions used by professional andamateur musicians around the world. You’re sure to enjoy the demonstration of authentic Cajun Music played onthese fine Cajun Squeezeboxes. Tonight we enjoy an authentic Cajun dinner. We spend the night in Lafayette. (D)
Day 3
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS • DINNER:
Travel today takes us to San Antonio, our home for the next two nights. San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States and is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas. You’ll understand why when you get a glimpse of this beautiful city! Dinner tonight is included on the River Walk. (D)
Day 4
ALAMO • IMAX THEATER • RIVER WALK:
Highlights of the day include a visit to The Alamo, established in 1718 as the city’s first mission, and a most interesting film, Alamo - the Price of Freedom at the IMAX Theater. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the river walk area along the shores of the San Antonio River. Shops, restaurants, boutiques, and vendors line the banks of the river.
Day 5
Y.O. RANCH • LUNCH • LBJ RANCH & NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK • AUSTIN - STATE CAPITOL:
Saddleup, partner, we’re burnin’ daylight! We get a glimpse of theOld West at the Y.O. Ranch, a 40,000-acre working ranch, and see the country’s largest collection of exotic wild animals.All this sightseeing sharpens the appetite,so saunter-on-upto the table for a mouthwatering Chuckwagon lunch. Wethen head to the LBJ Ranch, stopping at the Visitors Center,then drive by the “Texas Whitehouse”, the school thatPresident Johnson attended, and the cemetery where the President & Lady Bird Johnson are buried. This evening we drive by the State Capitol Building in Austin. We overnight in the Austin area. (L)

TEXAS RANGER MUSEUM • MAGNOLIA MARKET • FORT WORTH STOCKYARDS • CATTLE DRIVE • STEAK DINNER:
In Waco we visit the Texas Ranger Museum. Herewe will find out all about these famous lawmen who have been called one of the most effective investigative law enforcement agencies in the world. We have time for a shortstop at Magnolia Market, owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines.Arriving in Fort Worth, it’s apparent that the Old West is thriving in the Stockyards National Historic District! See a real Texas Longhorn cattle drive down Exchange Avenue and enjoy the authenticity of the Stockyards. Dinner tonightis included at one of the area’s popular steak restaurants. (D)
Day 7
DALLAS • SIXTH FLOOR MUSEUM • ARKANSAS:
Dallas is probably most noted as the site of the assassination ofPresident John F. Kennedy. The Sixth Floor Museum displaysan interesting exhibition on the life, death, and legacy ofPresident Kennedy. It is here in the formerTexas School Book Depository that LeeHarvey Oswald supposedly fired his fatalshots. Before leaving Dallas we stop atPioneer Plaza to see the larger-than-lifebronze cattle drive. We travel to Little Rock,Arkansas, for the night. This evening weenjoy a delicious dinner before checkinginto our hotel. (D)
Day 8
MEMPHIS • SUN STUDIO • MEMPHISPYRAMID • DINNER • NASHVILLE:
Upon arrival in Memphis, we visit SunStudio, “The Birthplace of Rock ’n Roll”.It is the discovery location of musicallegends and genres of the 50’s fromB.B. King and Elvis Presley to JohnnyCash and Jerry Lee Lewis; from Bluesand Gospel to Country and Rock ’n Roll.Stand in the very same spot that Elvisfirst recorded. Your guide will tell you theinside stories of B.B. King, Howlin’ Wolfand Ike Turner before Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins,Jerry Lee Lewis, & Roy Orbison who were all drawn to thenew Sun Sound. Next, we take a ride down Beale Street,in the heart of downtown Memphis, on our way to theMemphis Pyramid. The Pyramid was originally built for asports and concert arena. Now transformed into Bass ProShops at the Pyramid, it is one of the most dynamic andimmersive retail experiences in the world. In addition toan incredible assortment of fishing, boating, hunting andoutdoor gear, the mega store includes a 103-room hotelwith treehouse cabins; 600,000 gallons of water teemingwith over 1,800 fish; a cypress swamp with alligator poolsand duck aviaries; and a breathtaking observation deckat the top of the 32-story steel pyramid. HOME:
It’s time to head on back to the homestead,hang our hats, and slide our boots under our ownbunk! We’ve had a whoppin’ good time!
