Togera
- Togera is a giant lizard who more than slightly resembles Godzilla. He jumps and moves at about an average speed compared to the rest of the monsters. Togera is a pretty balanced monster in both his movement and attacks, so he's a good character to choose for starting players.
His close special is a spherical burst of green energy that knocks his opponent away and causes a bit of damage. Togera breathes a stream of green energy at his enemy for his ranged attack. It's pretty powerful and slows his opponent down enough that it's not too hard to keep it locked on long enough to cause some serious damage.
Preytor [ -]
Preytor is a mutated praying mantis. He's a fairly fast character, though he's not as strong as the rest of the group. Preytor's standard jump is also pretty weak, but he has the ability to fly. Pressing X while airborne will cause him to flap his wings and gain altitude, and holding X will cause him to glide. Flying uses a bit of energy though, and since his normal jump is pretty weak it can be hard to maneuver with him if he runs out of energy.
Preytor's close attack is much the same as Togera's. He emits a burst of energy that damages and tosses his opponent. His ranged attack resembles a thrown mist of acid. If it hits its target a worm-like creature is seen eating away at the head of its victim. It does a reasonable bit of damage and it's pretty quick to throw it. It's also a direct hit special, so you don't have to worry about keeping it locked on for long in order to cause a nice bit of damage.
Congar -
King Kong's alter ego, Congar is the new king of the suburban jungle. He's a fairly balanced character, so he's another good choice for starting players. He moves about the same as Togera, though he's a little slower at stopping, turning and running again than Togera is. His quick and yet powerful ranged special makes up for that, though.
His close special is the standard burst of energy that tosses his opponent away. His ranged special is a scream that causes a nice bit of damage. It doesn't take too long to pull off the move, and it's an instant hit attack. It also tosses his opponent, so extra damage may be incurred either from falling or crashing into buildings.
Robo-47 -
The standard B-movie sci-fi robot, Robo-47 is one of the more agile characters in the game. He has the best jump of any character and he moves at a nice clip as well. His close special is a bit different than that of many of the other characters; it's a mostly planar attack, so he can' hurt enemies that happen to be in the air at the time of the attack. It's one of the more powerful close range specials though, so it's a trade-off. His ranged attack is simply a missile that he fires. It's rather quick and causes a decent amount of damage.
Agamo
advertisem*nt
His ranged attack is a bit different than anyone else's in the game. When you use his attack, he simply rips off an enlarged copy of his head and holds it in his hand. You can then either pummel your opponent with it or toss it at them. It acts like any other object that you can pick up in the game, so other creatures can also pick it up and throw it back at Agamo. It will explode after staying on the level for a little while, though, so it doesn't last forever.
Ultra-V
- Resembling a Transformer of sorts, Ultra-V is exactly the type of robot that you'd picture would be fighting these other creatures. He's not the fastest character in the game, but he can jump fairly well. His close special is a flurry of punches that he dishes out, cool effects included, but his first punch will probably knock his opponent away. Because of this it doesn't cause too much damage, but it sure looks neat.
Ultra-V uses a grappling hook as his ranged weapon. It doesn't cause a whole lot of damage on contract, but it stuns the opponent so that they're open for a good beating. It works especially well against those pesky enemies who constantly run or like to hop from rooftop to rooftop.
Magmo
- As his name may imply, Magmo is made out of molten lava. Somewhat similar to the way Agamo plays, though not quite as exaggerated, he's powerful yet a little slow. His close attack is simply an explosion that rocks nearby creatures.
Magmo lets loose of flurry of lava rocks for his ranged special. They have a bit of a spread to them, so they likely won't all hit their target. Results can vary a bit in an open field. If a high percentage of them hit then it'll cause nice damage, but there's a decent chance that many of them will miss and he'll cause relatively minimal damage. Where this attack is best though is when an opponent is near a building or two. Since some of the rocks will take out the building, the opponent will be thrown around the tumbling rubble and it can cause an exceedingly high amount of damage this way.
Kineticlops
- Kineticlops is one of the more unique looking creatures in the game. He's an eyeball surrounded by an electrical field that forms his body. He's pretty average as far as movement and jumping go. His close special is an electrical discharge that causes average damage. His ranged special is a field of lighting that he emits from his hands at his opponent. It takes a little while for the move to actually fire, but it's quite powerful if it's landed.
Raptros
Zorgulon
advertisem*nt
His ranged special is quite unique. A group of UFOs are called out to attack the target, and once they're summoned the target has to either run or try and shoot them down. There are enough that they'll likely be hurt more by trying to fight, though, rather than just running away. Even at that they'll get hurt quite a bit, but they'll be decimated if they just stand still. The downside is that the attack is very slow to fire, so it's possible to avoid it entirely.
